In case you've missed the entire chicken sandwich discourse, a heads up: those viral chicken sandwiches from Popeyes are still sold out.

You can still get them, though — if you bring your own bun to your local Popeyes franchise.

The restaruant announced Thursday morning you can show up at a Popeyes restaurant with a bun of your choice, order a three-piece chicken tender meal and make your chicken sandwich yourself. Because what's a fast food meal without a little bit of work on your part, right?

Try our new BYOB! It’s basically The Sandwich! Only no mayo. Or pickles. And you bring your own bun… Really it’s just three tenders…

Popeyes' head of marketing told CNN it was a "fun way" for guests to get the sandwiches while they work to bring the sandwich back to the menu.

As far as what kind of bun you bring, that's entirely up to you. I'm thinking a nice brioche would be good...or anything of the King's Hawaiian variety.
