New book features history of Missouri's award winning century farms
The book, Missouri’s Century Farms, Vol. II, is being written by a team of Missouri’s most prominent historians, and will include regional histories, crops, technology, and more. In addition, a special section will showcase biographical profiles (with photos) of family farms that have received the Missouri Century Farm Award, in recognition for maintaining their family farm for 100 years or more.
Residents can pick up a brochure in the Maries County Courthouse, at 211 Fourth St., in Vienna. The brochure describes the new book in detail, with information on how century farm families may participate at no charge. Sample farm histories and an easy fill-in-the-blank questionnaire are located inside the brochure
In addition, all Century Farm owners will have the first opportunity to purchase Missouri’s Century Farms, Volume II before it is offered to the public.
