Health Department reports 3 more COVID-19 deaths since Thursday in Phelps County

The Phelps Maries County Health Department on Monday reported 142 active COVID-19 cases in Phelps County —  fifty-one in Rolla, 79 in St. James, one in the Edgar Springs area and 11 in the Newburg area. 

As of 5 p.m. Monday, the department reported that 24 people have died from COVID-19, and there are 11 people currently hospitalized. The department has confirmed 19 deaths in the St. James and Rosati area, four deaths in Rolla and one death in the Newburg area.

The department reported that 790 people previously quarantined in Phelps County have now been released from isolation.

In neighboring Maries County, the department reported 51 active COVID-19 cases — thirty-eight in Vienna, four in Vichy, four in Belle, three in Argyle and two in St. James.

The department’s report shows two people currently hospitalized in Maries County, while 174 people have now been released from mandatory quarantine. 

The health department has reported no deaths from COVID-19 in Maries County.
