The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services is partnering with the Missouri National Guard and Phelps Maries County Health Department to offer residents free polymerase chain reaction tests from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Lions Club Den and Park, 1061 S. Bishop Ave., in Rolla.

The Phelps Maries County Health Department said the PCR test will require a nasal anterior nares swab to be placed about one-half inch inside the nose to determine if there is an active infection with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

The department said results typically take 48 to 72 hours.

The tests are free. Residents who are interested in the testing do not have to show symptoms and are not required to reside in Phelps County.

Antigen and antibody tests will not be provided at the event.
