National Weather Service issues flash flood warning for Phelps County

The National Weather Service forecast office in Springfield has issued a flash flood warning for Phelps County, Maries County and Northwestern Dent County. 

“Doppler radar and automated gauges indicated nearly stationary thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the area. Up to two inches have already fallen in the Salem area,” according to the National Weather Service at 8:14 p.m.

Rolla, St. James, Doolittle, Newburg,  Vichy, Anutt, Howes, Lecoma, Salem, Belle, Vienna, Lenox, Lake Spring, Bangert, Northwye and Rosati will experience flooding from thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service’s flash flood warning. 

The weather services’s flash flood warning for the area remains in effect until 2:15 a.m.
