FARMINGTON — A motorcyclist has died in a collision with a pickup truck in eastern Missouri, authorities there said.

Jack Cable, 25, of Farmington, was killed in the Tuesday afternoon crash on Highway 221 just west of Farmington, the Missouri Highway Patrol said.

Cable was operating a motorcycle when the truck, driven by a 60-year-old man, turned onto the highway in front of Cable, causing the collision, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. Cable was thrown from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene, the patrol said.

No charges in the case had been announced by Thursday.

Farmington is about 70 miles south of St. Louis.
