Two dead, three seriously injured in a vehicle crash in Pulaski County

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the vehicle crash 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. The highway patrol stated in the traffic crash report that a Ford F-150, driven by an 18-year-old Dixon man, was heading eastbound on Missouri Route 33, 4 miles west of Dixon, when his vehicle crossed the center of the road, went off the left side of the roadway, hit a tree and caught on fire. 

The highway patrol reported that the 18-year-old driver and a 16-year-old male passenger weren’t wearing safety devices and died in the crash. The Pulaski County Coroner pronounced the 18-year-old and 16-year-old dead at the scene at 3:52 a.m., according to the report.

Four other passengers sustained injuries from the crash, authorities reported.

A 13-year-old female, a 17-year-old female and a 16-year-old male sustained serious injuries from the crash, according to the report.  The 13-year-old was flown by Lifeline to University Hospital in Columbia, while the 17-year-old and 16-year-old were transported by Pulaski County ambulance to Phelps Health in Rolla. The 16-year-old was then airlifted to University Hospital in Columbia, according to the report. 

The highway patrol reported the 13-year-old, 17-year-old and 16-year-old were not wearing safety devices.

An 18-year-old male passenger also sustained moderate injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Phelps Health in Rolla, according to the report. The highway patrol reported the male was wearing a seat belt.
