This year's tournament at St. James includes several local teams from the area, as well as some of the toughest boys teams from central Missouri.

The area teams are Licking, Waynesville, Sullivan, Salem, St. James and Rolla. Blair Oaks is a strong team that has played a tough schedule, while Fatima is the strongest Class 3 school in Missouri. They are from the Jefferson City area and are the top-ranked team in Missouri.

St. James will be taking on Rolla in the first round this season and the Tigers are having a strong season overall as they are 10-1 on the year. The only blemish on their record is a 52-60 loss to Sullivan in the Sullivan Tournament championship game. They have defeated Waynesville, Rolla and Salem this season and St. James defeated Rolla 81-56 on December 10.

Rolla is 6-7 on the season, but their record is deceiving as some of those losses came to fairly good competition. The Bulldogs have wins over Lincoln College Prep from Kansas City, the Salem Tigers, Warrensburg and Hillcrest. The Bulldogs fell in a close game on January 10 to Class 5 No. 7 Kickapoo and lost another on December 28 to Class 4 No. 2 Raytown South in the Rolla Holiday Tournament.

The winners of the first round games will play on Friday and the consolation side will play on Thursday.
