Rolla dealt pair of close defeats, Newburg goes 2-1 and St. James picks up three wins in previous week
The Bulldogs fell to Kickapoo on Friday in just their second game of the new year. They were able to hang with the Blue and Gold Tournament runner-ups, but fell 68-74. The other game so far in the new decade resulted in a 54-48 loss to Union on January 3.
Rolla is 5-7 on the season and will host their first home game of 2020 against Hillcrest on January 14. Both teams are 0-1 in Ozark Conference action.
Rolla will travel to Jefferson City and face Helias Catholic on January 17. Next week they will compete in the St. James Tournament.
The Wolves are 6-6 this season and went 2-1 last week.
Newburg defeated Vienna 51-43 on January 7 at home. The boys then traveled to Jefferson City and took part in the Calvary Lutheran Tournament. They defeated the St. Louis Patriots 70-47 on January 10 and fell to St. Louis Christian 48-56 on January 11.
This week they will travel to Crocker on January 14 and Plato on January 17. Newburg will compete in the Belle Tournament from January 20th through the 25th.
St. James Tigers
The St. James Tigers picked up three wins last week.
They defeated Fatima 62-58 in a close game on January 7, Dixon 78-38 on January 9 and conference foe New Haven 68-45 on January 10.
The Tigers are 9-1 on the season. Their only loss is to Sullivan in the championship game on December 16.
This week the Tigers will host Cuba on January 14 and travel to Steelville on January 17. St. James will host their own tournament next week.
