Rolla’s Emma Puetz signed her letter of intent on Wednesday to continue her running career in familiar territory. She will be attending Missouri S&T next fall.

Puetz is a four-time state cross country qualifier. She had also earned First Team All-Ozark Conference all four years. In track she finished with multiple championships in the 1600 and 800-meter runs. She placed eighth in the state championship of the 1600-meter run and sixth as a member of the 4x400 meter relay team to earn All-State honors.

“Emma has worked hard year in and year out. It has been a privilege to coach her for my first two years of coaching,” Rolla cross country coach Rhett Cook said. “Her dedication to the sport is what makes every day the best day of my life. She is an amazing athlete and one of the greatest Rolla has had. I know she will go on to do great things at S&T and in life.”

Puetz is also a member of the National Honors Society. She had a 4.0 GPA and had been on the honor roll the last four years. The senior has been set on going to Missouri S&T for some time and is thrilled to have the opportunity to stay home.

“Being able to stay in Rolla and go to a fantastic college and run, as well as staying close to my family means so much to me. During the beginning of my junior year, I knew I wanted to go to S&T and continue my running career,” she said. “I am so blessed to have this amazing opportunity and I cannot wait for what it has in store for me.”
