The St. James Tigers football team had three players earn All-Conference honors. Sophomore Logan Sparks, sophomore Chandler Tinsley and senior Nolan Bell were all selected this season.

Sparks was the program’s only First Team selection. He had 31 punts during the season with an average of 34.4 yards a punt. He managed to pin his opponents inside their 20-yard line 11 times this season. Sparks also played receiver during the year.

“Logan was a nice addition this year and was a solid contributor at tight end and wide receiver. He earned All-Conference punter honors, but I believe he has the potential to be a special player in the next couple of years,” Rolla coach Josh Rodriguez said of the sophomore.

Tinsley was one of two players selected for their tackling skills. Tinsley played defensive end and collected 55 tackles on the year. He had 27 of his own and assisted with 28 others. Four of the tackles were sacks and he was injured part of the season, playing only seven games.

“Chandler has a motor that goes 100 miles per hour. He is a strong, fast kid that will be a force on both sides of the ball for the next two years.” Rodriguez noted.

Bell was selected to the Second Team for his play on the offensive line and he was a leader for many of the younger players. Bell had 23 tackles on the season and 10 of them were solo takedowns.

“Nolan was the anchor of our offensive line and was a 2-year starter. He did a great job this season helping the younger linemen get into position and know assignments,” Rodriguez said.

With two All-Conference players returning, the Tigers will look to improve next season.
