Rolla made several attempts to come back, but fell 1-2 to the St. Dominic Crusaders from the St. Louis area. The Bulldogs ended their season with a 16-8-1 record and added the program’s 31st district title.

The Rolla Bulldogs fell on Wednesday to St. Dominic in a game with the field surrounded by snow from the day before.

Rolla made several attempts to come back, but fell 1-2 to the Crusaders from the St. Louis area. The Bulldogs ended their season with a 16-8-1 record and added the program’s 31st district title.

St. Dominic led 2-0 lead after the first half of the game. They scored with 11 minutes remaining in the half and added a second goal with four minutes remaining.

Lane Mabe broke Rolla’s dry spell when he scored with 11 minutes in the second half from an assist by Mohamad Alamaldien.

Rolla had two more goals that were called back when the Bulldogs scored off of a scramble that was called out of the goal. The other happened with just under four minutes left when a goal by Alamaldien was reversed by an offsides call.

“I am very proud of this group. What a fun and rewarding season,” Rolla coach Mike Howard said. “We lost the last game and that stings obviously, but to go into Saint Louis and play a private school, and lose 1-2, we represented southwest Missouri soccer very well. They should be proud.”
