Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs finish 2nd in 38th Annual Rolla invitational as Waynesville sweeps the competition

The Rolla Bulldogs hosted the Waynesville Tigers, Salem Tigers, and Eldon Mustangs this week at the 38th annual Rolla Invitational that was held at Lions Club Park. With the teams running strong, the Bulldogs came in second place to the WHS Tigers who swept both divisions.

Boys

The Waynesville Tigers won the meet with the team score of 23 while the Bulldogs were the runner-up with 50 points. The Salem Tigers took third place with a score of 63 and Eldon did not the runners to qualify for team competition.

The varsity boys race was a fast one as Waynesville junior Byan O’Barr won the meet with the time of 16:13. He had an incredible 5:13 per mile average time. The Bulldogs took the next two spots as senior Noah Crutcher was the individual runner-up with a time of 18:04. Junior Orion Parker took third place after he ran 18:11. Both Rolla boys were just under six minutes a mile. Eldon senior Caleb Martonfi placed fourth with the run of 18:55 while Waynesville junior Evan Nitchman placed fifth in the race.

Waynesville junior Gabriel Golinghorst placed sixth, Waynesville senior Keaton Hudson placed seventh, Waynesville sophomore Zachary Hudson was eighth, Waynesville freshman Luther Supancic was ninth and Salem junior John Myslinski was 10th overall.

Girls

The Lady Tigers from Waynesville were the winners in the varsity girls division with 28 points. Rolla placed second with 35 while Eldon took home third with 73 points.

The individual winner of the race was Rolla senior Emma Puetz who ran the time of 19:39. Lady Bulldogs freshman Isabella Frost showed some potential with her second place run in 20:44. The Waynesville Lady Tigers took third when Madelyn Newson ran 21:12 in the race. Waynesville runner Katelyn Vanbelkum placed fourth with the time of 22:07. Lady Bulldog freshman Kenzie Duvel rounded out the top five with her run of 22:33.

The Waynesville Lady Tigers placed six through nine. Freshman Lilly Peace placed sixth, junior Chambre Garcia took seventh, junior Elone Ward placed eighth, and junior MacKenzie Mccurdy took home ninth place. Eldon senior Kensey Manthey rounded out the top 10.

The next meet for the Rolla Bulldogs and Waynesville Tigers will be on October 5 at Ha Ha Tonka State Park in Camdenton. The Eldon Mustangs will travel to Moberly on October 3.
