The Phelps County Child Advocacy Network will be co-hosting the 2020 Healthy Baby and Beyond event with Rolla Fire and Rescue to provide resources and educational materials to local families.
Due to circumstances involving COVID-19, the event will be held as a drive-thru for the health and safety of guests and volunteers from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday, at the Eugene E. Northern Community Hall building, 400 N. Main St.
The number of guests will be limited. Phelps County Child Advocacy Network and Rolla Fire and Rescue ask community members to reserve a spot by contacting Rolla Fire and Rescue at 573-464-3989 or by sending the department a message on their Facebook page.
The first 200 people will receive free diaper bags donated by Phelps County Bank. There will additionally be drawings for many family-friendly prizes. Free car seats and safe cribs will be available to families that meet the determined need requirements.
The fun, free, and educational event has served local families for over ten years; however, due to COVID-19, many of the families Phelps County Child Advocacy Network assists are in extra need of support this year. Community members are encouraged to get the word out about the helpful event to ensure local families benefit from the cost-free services.
Missouri Care- A Wellcare Company, Phelps County Bank, Prevention Consultants of Missouri, Phelps Maries County Health Department and Infant Loss Resources have also put time, effort and resources into the Healthy Baby and Beyond initiative.
