The Rolla Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated ambassadors who achieved 1,000 volunteer points with a tree dedication ceremony.
Rolla Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Stevie Kearse said the ceremony recognized Kent Bagnall, Earl Bean, Marcia Burns, Caroleen Ferrell, Tonya Greven, Terry Harris, Jim Marcellus, Lonna Sowers, Jim Standfast and Wendy Young.
Kearse said it takes a great deal of hard work to earn 1,000 volunteer points. Ambassadors volunteered at chamber and tourism events, served on committees and task forces, welcomed new members to the chamber organization, recruited new businesses to join the chamber and helped the chamber with all its efforts to enhance the quality of life in Rolla and Phelps County.
“The Rolla chamber is a strong organization, but we would not be what we are if it were not for remarkable individuals such as these we are celebrating today,” Kearse said. “We would like to say congratulations and a very heartfelt thank you for all that you have accomplished. May you be proud of the work you do, the person you are and the difference that you make."
