Phelps County Child Advocacy Network (PCCAN), a local collaborative, celebrated the launch of their new website. PCCAN hosted the party virtually on Facebook Live.

In attendance were several employees of Prevention Consultants of Missouri, a local nonprofit involved with PCCAN, as well as the website creator, James Lewis of Fresh Eyes Inc.

The creation of the website is one of the many initiatives of a large federal grant awarded to PCCAN earlier this year titled “Drug Free Communities.” The website includes blogs written by local stakeholders and experts, a history of PCCAN, drug information, childcare tips, mental health resources, and more.

Some of the other initiatives include launching a drug-free community campaign and drug education in local schools.

The week building up to the launch party on Aug. 14,  PCCAN held daily giveaways on Facebook. The prizes included gift certificates to Kokomo Joe’s, Soda and Scoops, Tiger Shark Water Park, and Donut King. Also included in the giveaway were two bowling certificates  donated by Coach Lite Lanes.
