Due to ongoing COVID-19 risk mitigation measures, the Fort Leonard Wood Tax Center is closed for the remainder of tax season this year.

However, filing a complete tax return is still required. Keeping the extended July 15 filing deadline in mind, the Legal Assistance Office has provided some useful tax filing resources to consider.

— MilitaryOneSource offers access to tax consultants who can answer questions. Active-duty service members can use this program, as well as retired and honorably discharged service members for up to six months past separation. Spouses, dependent children and survivors are able to use the free services as well. — TaxSlayer Classic offers free federal tax return for active-duty service members. Visit https:www.taxslayer.com/products/taxslayer-military for more information.

— TurboTax Military offers free federal and state filing with free edition or deluxe for E-1 through E-5. Visit https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/military-edition.jsp for more information.

— All filers with income below $66,000 can file their federal return for free with the IRS. Visit https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-file-do-your-federal-taxes-for-free for more information.
