The Environmental Services Department will suspend the curbside collection of yard waste in the brown biodegradable paper bags after Friday, Dec. 13. Have your brown bags at the curb by 6 a.m. on your collection day. The curbside collection of brown paper bags will resume in March.

The compost site, located at the north end of McCutchen Drive near the Rolla Recycling Center, is open all year long for anyone wanting to haul yard waste to that site.

If residents are dropping off a live Christmas tree, make sure to remove all tinsel, garland and the stand from the tree. A small fee is charged to commercial customers using the compost site (mowing services, landscaping services, etc.)  For more information, contact the Environmental Services Department at 364-6693 or visit the department’s website at
