The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested two men from North Carolina Wednesday evening in Cooper County with what troopers estimated was $1.1 million worth of THC vaping cartridges.

Robert S. Cutler, 67, and Benjamin J. Cutler, 23, both of Mooresville, N.C., were stopped on Interstate 70 for crossing the center line, the patrol’s Troop F reported on its Twitter account. Their SUV was screened by the patrol’s trained drug dog Rony and 21 packages containing 22,200 THC cartridges were found.

The cartridges were 85 to 90 percent THC, the patrol stated.

The men were arrested on suspicion of felony delivery of a controlled substance. Each posted a $7,500 bond and were released from the Cooper County Jail, Lt. Brad Simmons of the Cooper County Sheriff's Office wrote in an email.

Neither of the men had been formally charged as of early Thursday.
