The Christkindl Markt falls on Saturday, Dec. 7 after the Rolla Christmas Parade. Christkindl Markt is a family friendly event inspired by the traditional Christmas Markets in Germany. The Rolla Christkindl Markt is presented by the Rolla Area Sister Cities Committee to honor our Sister City Sondershausen, Germany. The event is held in two large heated tents. 

The Rolla Rotary Clubs vendors tent will be located on Seventh Street, and will house all of the craft vendors for the event. This tent adjoins the Christkindl Markt performance and food tent in the Public House parking lot, which includes the Rolla Noon Kiwanis performance stage and all of the food and beverage vendors for the event. The tables and stools in the tent were built by the Rolla Technical Institute Building Trades Classes. Entertainment begins at 11 a.m. and is scheduled throughout the day until 9 p.m.

Food Vendors for Christkindl Markt include: 

• O’ Doggys -Bratwurst and German potato salad 

• Knights of Columbus – potato pancakes, spiral potatoes, pea soup,home-made hot chocolate, and coffee

• Selena’s Schnitzelstrasse – schnitzel, German potato salad, goulash 

• Rolla Breakfast Rotary Club -  German Pretzels, mustard, and cheese

• CrepeEscape – savory and sweet hand-made crepes 

• Coterie Club -  Bunter teller (cookie plates)  apple and cherry strudel

• Zimtrollen – warm, fresh cinnamon rolls 

• Rolla Choral Arts Society – Hot spiced cider 

• Public House - Glühwein and Bier

The Christkindl Markt craft vendors are specifically selected for the high quality, hand-crafted items they offer. The Rolla Area Sister Cities Committee will have a table of authentic German items for sale, along with information about our Sister City, Sondershausen, Germany. The Rolla Rotary Clubs Craft Tent will also house “make and take” craft activities for the kids.
