After a search that spanned multiple counties, the Osage County Sheriff's Office said they located and arrested 23-year-old Shay Michael Vinson on Wednesday.
Vinson was taken into custody at a residence off of Highway CC near Linn after Osage police said they received a tip. Vinson had seen deputies approach and fled on foot for a short distance before deputies were able to take Vinson into custody, the Osage County Sheriff’s Office said.
No deputies were injured, and Vinson was taken to the hospital as a precaution, the sheriff's office said.
Court documents show two felony charges and two misdemeanor charges have been filed against Vinson, and his bond has been filed and set at $45,000 cash or surety.
Gasconade police said on Sunday that Vinson had fled from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, crashed his vehicle in Maries County, left two female occupants behind inside the vehicle and was able to elude capture.
The Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office said that law enforcement across multiple counties responded to Maries County to assist in finding Vinson on Nov. 14. Osage County police brought a K-9 and ATV’s to help search for Vinson, and the highway patrol provided air support.
Law enforcement found a firearm and ammunition inside the vehicle Vinson was driving, the Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office said.
Vinson was also wanted by Osage County authorities for failure to appear for possession of a controlled substance and parole violation.
The Gasconade County Sheriff’s Department said Vinson is also a person of interest in a number of recent vehicle thefts in Gasconade County and the surrounding area.
