The Meramec Regional Planning Commission (MRPC) is partnering with Phelps Health to host a free one-day workshop entitled “A Changing Workforce: Responding to the Opioid Epidemic.”

The free workshop will be on Nov. 8, 2019 in the Shirley Day Room at the Delbert Day Cancer Institute, located at 1060 W. 10th St. The workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and will include morning snacks and lunch for all attendees.

The workshop is aimed towards employers and focuses on understanding the illness, treatment and recovery; the untapped workforce potential; opportunities within employment; and enacting policy change within the workplace. Some of the speakers include Dr. Sean Siebert of Invent Yourself LLC, Phil Cohen of Cohen Architectural Woodworking, Jonathan Ahl of St. Louis Public Radio, and Dr. Patricia A. Cavazos of Washington University School of Medicine. The lunchtime keynote speaker, Rebecca Losing of St. James, will share her story of addiction and recovery.
