Human remains were found in a barrel on Monday on the Gasconade River.
The Gasconade County Sheriff's Office on Monday determined human remains were inside a barrel that law personnel removed from the Gasconade River on Friday, April 12. The cause of death has yet to be released. On Friday the Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office met with the Missouri State Highway Patrol Marine Division and removed a plastic barrel that was lodged on the side of the boat ramp at the Gasconade River access in Gasconade. The barrel and its contents were determined to be suspicious and subsequently taken to the Boone County Medical Examiner’s Office in Columbia, according to the Gasconade County Sheriff's Office. Human remains were discovered inside the barrel on Monday. The Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office states the investigation into the identity and cause of death is ongoing.
