The Rolla track teams took part int he West Plains Zizzers Relays on Thursday, April 11. The Bulldogs came away with a third place finish as a team, while the girls finished in fourth place as a team.

Boys:

Rolla got out to a strong start in the sprinting events. Trey Quick took second in the 100m dash with a time of 11.7. Quick and Bryce O'Connor finished back to back in the 200m dash with Quick taking third with a time of 24.25, while O'Connor was .03 seconds behind in fourth. RJ Alfred rounded out the sprints with a third place finish in the 400m dash with a time of 53.94, while O'Connor finished in fifth with a time of 54.76.

Nnamezie Orizu then won both of the hurdles races for Rolla. He took first in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.01, while Logan Oden finished fifth. Orizu then won the 300m hurdles with a time of 41.97.

Rolla also ran well in the distance events. Abdu Ibrahim finished seventh in the 800m run with a time of 2:17.25, while Kylan Hunn finished 12th. Thurston Wyatt also finished 14th in the 3,200m run.

The Bulldogs ran well in the relay events, taking home first place in the 4x400. The team of O'Connor, Alfred, Orizu and Alex Frisbee won with a time of 3:36.08. They also took second in the 4x200 with a time of 1:33.94, third in the 4x800 with a time of 9:16.12 and fourth in the 4x100 46.33. 

Rolla continued to compete well in the field events. Kaberon Burgess and Colton Franks dominated the throwing events. Burgess won the javelin with a throw of 158'6", while fellow Bulldog Hayden Fane took ninth. Franks then won the discus with a throw of 131'4", while Burgess was right behind him in second with a throw of 127'5". Burgess then took third in the shot put with a throw of 43'8", while Franks finished fourth with a throw of 40'.25".

The jumping events saw Josh Lefatche take sixth in the high jump after clearing 5'8", Mason Harrison finish fifth in the pole vault by clearing 12'6", Trey Quick take sixth in the long jump with a leap of 18'9.5" and Matt Ballard finish 10th in the triple jump with a leap of 37'2.25". 

Girls:

The Lady Bulldogs hit the ground running in the sprinting events. Olivia Olusanya won the 100m dash with a time of 13.43, while Emma Hobbs took ninth. Bayli Graydon then took fourth in the 200m dash with a time of 28.91, while Olusanya took sixth with a time of 29.61. Riley Slowensky rounded out the sprints with a sixth place finish with a time of 1:07.05. Rolla ran one distance race with Mary Romine finishing fifth in the 800m run with a time of 2:42.51. 

The hurdles races saw Bayli Graydon finish fourth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.59 and Renae Dobry finish 14th in the 300m hurdles with a time of 1:02.41. 

Rolla ran well in the relays with their top finish coming in the 4x200. They took second in that race with a time of 1:51. Rolla also finished third int he 4x400 with a time of 4:39.02 and fourth in the 4x100 with a time of 53.45. 

The Lady Bulldogs also shined in the field events. Abby Hobbs won the pole vault after clearing 9'6", while Emma Hobbs finished fourth with a time of 7'6". Emily Swizdor also finished eighth in the high jump and triple jump, along with a 13th place finish in the long jump. 

Lauren Moersch had a great day throwing for Rolla. She placed third in the javelin with a throw of 92'10, while Summer Bowen finished in eighth. Moersch also took seventh in the shot put and discus with throws of 29'4.75" and 92'4". 

Next up for Rolla is the Capital City Relays on Saturday.
