The Rolla track teams split up to compete in a pair of meets at the end of last week with the girls going to Springfield for the Glendale Girl's Night Out Invitational on Thursday, April 4 and the boys taking part in the Eureka Wildcat Classic on Friday, April 5. The girls finished in seventh place in the packed meet at Glendale, while the boys finished third at Eureka.

Girl's Night Out Invitational:

Rolla got out to a solid start in the sprinting events, as Olivia Olusanya took home sixth in the 100m dash with a time of 13.05. Olivia Holmes followed that with a seventh place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 27.52 and a fourth place finish in the 400m dash with a time of 1:01.46.

Emma Puetz then had a dominant performance in the distance events, winning the 800m run and placing fourth in the 1,600m run. Puetz won the 800m run by nearly four seconds, crossing the finish line in 2:23.8, while teammate Mary Romine finished 20th in the event. Puetz then finished the 1,600m run with a time of 5:23.11. 

Rolla's top hurdler was Kassandra Hayes, who finished 39th in both the 100m and 300m hurdles races.

The Lady Bulldog's best relay finish came in the 4x800 where the team of Holmes, Romine, Riley Slowensky and Puetz took ninth. Rolla also finished 14th in the 4x200 and 15th in the 4x400. The event also had a thrower's relay, where Rolla's team of Renae Dobry, Lauren Moersch, Rebecca Janke and Gracie Nash took second in the 4x100 with a time of 1:00.08.

Those throwers also competed well in their field events, led by Janke in the javelin. The junior took third with a throw of 110'3.5", while Moersch claimed 10th. Janke also finished 15th in the discus and 18th in the shot put. Rolla's top jumper was Emily Swizdor, who finished 23rd in the triple jump and 43rd in the long jump.

The Lady Bulldogs finished with 31 team points, which placed them in seventh place out of 37 teams. Ozark won the event with 96 team points, while Kickapoo finished second and Hickman placed third. 

Eureka Wildcat Classic: 

The Bulldogs got off to an excellent start in the sprinting events on the night. Trey Quick won the 100m dash with a time of 11.57, while Adeeb Massri finished fourth with a time of 11.79. Bryce O'Connor then took fourth in the 200m dash with a time of 23.73, while Quick finished in fifth with a time of 23.88. Rolla rounded out the sprinting events with Alex Frisbee taking second in the 400m dash with a time of 52.69, while Gabe Stanislawski finished in eighth.

Frisbee then carried in to the distance events, where he took seventh in the 800m run with a time of 2:11.84, while Kylan Hunn finished 10th. Noah Crutcher then finished ninth in the 1,600m run with a time of 5:03.4, while Wyatt Owens finished 12th. Crutcher then took ninth in the 3,200m run with a time of 10:37.51.

Rolla continued their great runs with the hurdles events. Nnamezie Orizu started by winning the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.41, while Logan Oden finished in ninth. Orizu then finished second in the 300m hurdles with a time of 40.88, while Evan Inskip finished 10th.

The Bulldogs had a pair of third place finishes in the relays, as well as a fifth place finish. They took third in the 4x100 with a time of 45.88, before a third place finish in the 4x400 with a time of 3:33.27. The Bulldogs also finished fifth in the 4x800 with a time of 8:57.11.

Rolla kept their great pace up in the field events. Mason Harrison won the pole vault after clearing 12', while Justin McEnaney finished in eighth. Josh Lefatshe and Blaize Klossner each had top five finishes in the high jump with Lefatshe clearing 5'8" to finish third and Klossner jumping 5'4" to finish fifth. Quick claimed second in the long jump with a leap of 19'4.5", while Klossner finished 10th. Mohamed Elshiekh finished fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 37'1", while Matt Ballard was right behind him in sixth with a jump of 36'8.5".

The Bulldogs rounded out their day with withs in both the discus and shot put. Colton Franks took home the top spot in each event with a discus throw of 133'9" and a shot put throw of 41'10.5". Ethan Crouch also finished seventh in the shot put and Joseph Oxner finished 11th in the discus.

Rolla finished third in the eight team event with 127 team points. Eureka won the event with 142 team points, while St. Louis University High School finished second with 139 team points.

The Rolla track teams will reunite for a busy week. The Bulldogs will take part meets at Camdenton and West Plains on Tuesday and Thursday, before running int he Capital City Relays at Jeff City on Saturday, April 13.
