The Rolla golf team traveled down to Springfield to take part in the MSU Relays at Payne Stewart Golf Course on Thursday, April 4. The Bulldogs shot well across the board, finishing in second in the Class 3 division of the tournament

The MSU Relays were split into Class 4, Class 3 and a combination of Classes 1 and 2. The Bulldogs finished in second in Class 3, shooting a 326 as a team. Rolla was led by Jeriah Jordan, who finished the day with a +9 79. Evan Moore and Nate Pulliam each shot an 81, while Evan Colench shot an 85 and Jack Gesualdi shot an 88.

"I was happy with the team’s performance compared to our first tournament," said head coach Zack Nixon. "After Monday, we spent a lot of time at the putting green and the range working on our short game and wedges."

The Bulldogs finished in second behind Springfield Catholic, who's team score of 310 was good enough to make them the overall champions of the tournament. Glendale took the Class 4 crown with a team score of 314, while Willow Springs won the Class 1-2 division with a team score of 333. Walker Tynes from Springfield Catholic was the overall medalist after beating Lebanon's Cooper Hess in a sudden-death playoff. The pair both shot a +3 73 before the playoff.

Rolla will be back in another tournament on Monday when they travel to Bolivar to play at Silo Ridge.
