The Rolla boys golf team took part in the Columbia Classic for their first tournament of the season on Monday, April 1. The Bulldogs came away with a ninth place finish as a team.

Nate Pulliam and Jeriah Jordan tied for Rolla's top finish in the tournament, as each golfer shot an 85. Jack Gesualdi shot an 87, while Evan Colench and Evan Moore each shot a 93. The Bulldogs had a team score of 350, which was good enough got a ninth place finish.

Chaminade had the top team finish with a 305, as they had four of the top six finishes in the tournament. Rock Bridge had the two top individual finishes and took second as a team with both Sean Minor and Keith Schaezler shooting a 74.

"The Columbia Classic was held at Columbia Country Club which is where the State Tournament will be held later this year. Today’s tournament gave us an excellent chance to preview the course," said head coach Zack Nixon. "We played well and kept our heads in it, but made some poor course management decisions and didn’t putt very well. Overall, it was a good first tournament and a good learning experience."

The Bulldogs will be back in tournament play later this week with the MSU Relays at the Payne Stewart Golf Course on Thursday, April 4.
