Phelps Health Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has been recognized by the Missouri Emergency Medical Services for Children program as being Pediatric Ready.
Specific equipment and training needs make pediatric patients a specialty population with the EMS field. Phelps Health EMS has recognized these needs and has taken steps to ensure its service is properly equipped to treat and transport pediatric patients.
To gain this recognition, the agency was required to confirm with Missouri EMS for Children that it carries all essential pediatric-specific equipment and has an appointed Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator. This care coordinator acts as a pediatric champion within the agency and ensures all pediatric-specific transport needs remain a top priority within its service.
Missouri EMS for Children is proud to recognize Phelps Health EMS for its commitment and dedication to the children of its community.
Missouri EMS for Children is a federally funded grant program whose mission is to reduce child and youth mortality and morbidity resulting from severe illness or trauma.
