The Rolla track team kicked off their season on Monday, Mar. 18 with a trip to Jefferson City. Rolla had a number of top finishes on the way to the boys finishing in second and the girls finishing in third.

Boys:

The boys kicked things off with the 100m dash, where Trey Quick finished in second place with a time of 11.64. Adeeb Massri came in sixth for the Bulldogs with a time of 12.2, while Dawit Pritchett rounded out the top 10 with a time of 12.56 in 10th place. Rolla also had four top 10 finishes in the 200m dash. Bryce O'Connor finished third in 24.04 right ahead of Quick, who crossed in 24.18. Ahmed Boubacar finished sixth with a time of 24.6, while RJ Alfred finished in eighth with a time of 24.82. Alfred also went on to win the 400m dash with a time of 53.17. O'Connor took fourth in the race with a time of 55.04, while Adbu Ibrahim finished fifth with a time of 57.56. Rolla then saw Alex Frisbee finish third in the 800m run with a time of 2:12.4. Noah Crutcher then took ninth in the 1,600m run with a time of 5:02.05. Crutcher then rounded out the running events with a fourth place finish in the 3,200m run with a time of 10:49.34. 

Nnamezie Orizu led Rolla in the hurdles, earning top three finishes in each race. He took second in the 110m race with a time of 16.02, while finishing third in the 300m race with a time of 43.12. Rolla also had Logan Oden, Evan Inskip and DeSeaun Williams finish in seventh, eighth and ninth respectively in the 110m race, while in the 300m race Inskip took sixth, Oden finished seventh and Williams finished eighth. 

The Bulldogs also had a number of strong relays. The team of Blaize Klossner, Boubacar, Quick, Dathan Mickem and Moussa Rilla finished second in the 4x100 with a time of 47.03, while the second Rolla team of Pritchett, Ascia Harrison, Massri and Kaleb Chiles finished fourth. Klossner's group then swapped out Quick for O'Connor in the 4x200 to finish second with a time of 1:35.93. The second group swapped out Chiles for Orizu to take third with a time of 1:41.03. The 4x400 saw a Rolla team of Frisbee, Ibrahim, Orizu and O'Connor finish in second with a time of 3:40.67, while the second Rolla team of Gabe Stanislawski, Mickem, Boubacar, Rilla and Alfred finished in third with a time of 3:49.79. Rolla's 4x800 teams finished in third and fifth with times of 9:27.38 and 10:34.79.

Rolla also had a number of good throwers led by Kaberon Burgess. He finished third in the shot put with a throw of 46' 2.5". Colton Frank then finished fifth in the discus with a throw of 123' 1", while Burgess finished seventh with a throw of 112' 2". Burgess then took second in the javelin with a throw of 133' 11", while freshman Hayden Fane took third with a throw of 130'. Elijah Cunningham also finished fifth for the Bulldogs with a throw of 114' 8". 

Rolla rounded things out with the jumping events. Josh LeFatche finished second in the high jump after clearing 5' 10", while Gage Klossner finished fifth by clearing 5' 4"/ Zach Pendelton finished in seventh after clearing 5' 2". Mason Harrison then led Rolla with a second place finish in the pole vault, clearing 11' 6". Justin McEnaney finished fifth after clearing 9', while David Meusch cleared 8' 6" to finish in sixth. Quick took fifth in the long jump after leaping 18' 7". Harrison finished eighth with a jump of 17' 4", while Matt Ballard was a spot behind him after jumping 17' .5". Ballard went on to finish third in the triple jump by clearing 37' 2".

Girls:

The girls had a strong showing on the day and that started with a first place finish in the 100m dash by Olivia Olusanya with a time of 13.01. Kendall Mara finished in sixth in the race with a time of 13.75. The 200m dash saw Reagan Reedy finish sixth with a time of 29.39, while Bayli Graydon finished eighth with a time of 30.11. Olivia Holmes and Emma Puetz finished in second and third, respectively, in the 400m dash with times of 1:03.94 and 1:05.17. Puetz then won the 800m run with a time of 2:28.78, while Mary Romine finished seventh and Renae Dobry finished in eighth. Mercedez Carpenter finished in 10th in the 1,600m run with a time of 7:18.84.

Samara Lewis, Kassandra Hayes and Ashley Wood ran hurdles for the Lady Bulldogs. Lewis took seventh in the 100m and sixth in the 300m. Hayes took eighth in the 100m and fourth in the 300m and Wood finished ninth in the 100m and fifth in the 300m.

The Lady Bulldogs had a number of strong relay teams. Their top 4x100 relay finished in second with a time of 52.51. That team consisted of Tahrea Facen, Reedy, Graydon and Olusanya. Their second team finished fourth. Rolla's 4x200 teams both DQed. In the 4x400, a team of Holmes, Facen, Puetz and Riley Slowensky finished second with a time of 4:28.59, while their second team finished fourth. The Rolla 4x800 team won the event with a time of 10:51.74. The team consisted of Holmes, Mary Romine, Slowensky and Puetz. 

Rolla was led by Rebecca Janke in the throwing events. She won the javelin with a throw of 107' 5", took third in the discus with a throw of 99' and finished in fourth in the shot put with a throw of 32' 10". Lauren Moersch finished second in the javelin with a throw of 104' 8", seventh in the discus with a throw of 93' 10" and eighth in the shot put with a throw of 28' 5".

Hayes led off the jumping events with a second place finish in the high jump, clearing 4' 8". Abby Hobbes took third in the pole vault after clearing 7' 6", while Kate Campbell and Emma Hobbes finished in a tie for fifth by clearing 6'. Olusanya finished fourth in the long jump by clearing 14' 11". Elsa Wise finished seventh, while Emily Swizdor finished eighth. Hayes took fourth in the triple jump by clearing 30' 3", while Loran Pritchett finished fifth with a jump of 29' 10.5". 

Rolla was back in action with a trip to Camdenton on Tuesday, but results were not available at press time.
