The crash occurred when Vehicle 2 traveling southbound on Highway O traveled into the path of Vehicle 1, which was traveling northbound on Highway O, four miles south of Rolla.
Vehicle 2, driven by, Alonzo Moore, 22, of Rolla, then struck Vehicle 1.
All occupants of Vehicle 2 were pronounced deceased on Nov. 18 at around 9 a.m. by the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department Detective Amy Hawkins, who was assisted by Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop I.
Zachary Barton, 26, of Salem, Logan Barton, 27, of Salem, Andrew Theiss, 25, of Rolla, and, Alonzo Moore, 22, of Rolla, who was driving Vehicle 2, died in the crash.
Vehicle 1, a Nissan Titan, driven by Andrew Knehans, 42, of Rolla, sustained extensive damage. The driver and all three occupants sustained injuries and were transported to the Phelps County Regional Medical Center by Phelps County EMS.
Driver, Andrew Knehans had moderate injuries. Occupant, Elaine Knehans ,43, of Rolla sustained serious injuries, and the other two occupants; one six-year-old and one ten-year-old both sustained minor injuries.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that none of the victims in Vehicle 2 were wearing their seat-belts, while all four victims in Vehicle 1 were reported as wearing seat-belts.
The Phelps County Sheriff’s Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop I, Phelps County Emergency Medical Services and the Rolla Rural Fire Department responded.
Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop I reports this is Troop I's 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th fatality for the month, and 30, 31st, 32nd and 33rd fatality for the year.
