The Rolla soccer team (14-8, 7-1 OC) hosted Camdenton for an Ozark Conference matchup on Tuesday, Oct. 16. The Bulldogs got out to a fast start and never looked back on their way to a 4-1 win.

Rolla hit the ground running on Tuesday, as Gabe Stanislawski found the back of the net in just the third minute off an assist from Mohammad Alamaldien. Rolla kept firing with two more goals before the 20th minute. First Carson Arnold scored off an assist from Adeeb Massri in the 15th minute, before Jarret Gabriele then scored in the 18th minute off an assist from Alamaldien.

After that, Rolla coasted into the half with a 3-0 lead and quickly added to it after the break. Gabriele scored his second goal of the game four minutes into the half. The Bulldogs had several of their bench players see significant time in the second half, which led to a Camdenton goal in the 67th minute. The late goal did little to stop the Bulldogs on their way to a 4-1 win.

"I thought we played really well in the first 10 minutes. I probably started subbing too soon," said Rolla head coach Mike Howard. "I know there's a chance we could see them in a few weeks, so we're just trying to mix things up a little bit. It wasn't our best effort of the year, but we played okay."

Rolla's had a big boost the last couple of weeks with Arnold back in the lineup playing up top. With Evan Moore still sidelined with an injury, Arnold is an important spark to the offense.

"Those two up top are playing really well together, Carson and Jarret are," said coach Howard. "With Mo and Gabe in the middle of the field playing well, we have a lot weapons."

Tuesday was also the Senior Spotlight for Rhys Proffitt. The Bulldog defender has been a crucial part of the stout Rolla defense for the past several seasons and was recognized for his commitment to the program before the game.

Rolla finished up Ozark Conference play with a matchup against Kickapoo on Wednesday night, but results were not available at press time. They'll wrap up their regular season on Friday with a trip to Father Tolton. After that, they have the week off before hosting Districts.
