The St. James cross country team hosted their annual meet on Wednesday, Sept. 26. The Tigers had a solid showing, finishing in sixth place.
St. James only had male runners in the high school races on Wednesday. Zach Deardeuff led the charge for the Tigers, finishing in 19th with a time of 19:57.8. Levi Brown and Kadin Guese then finished back to back in 28th and 29th with times of 20:49.8 and 20:50.2. Dayton Lynch finished in 33rd with a time of 20:56.6 and Joe Burns rounded things out with a 38th place finish with a time of 21:56.5.
The Tigers also had three runners in the JV race. Cody Garver finished in 11th place with a time of 21:47.3 in the 5K race, while James Altis finished in 25th with a time of 24:48.4 and Wyatt Cutsinger finished in 31st with a time of 34:39.9.
The middle school races were the biggest of the day. There were two Lady Tigers in the girls race. Erika Deardeuff finished in 10th place with a time of 10:49.2 and M'Lynn Steen finished in 84th with a time of 14:06.3. St. James finished in fourth in the boys middle school race as a team. Luke Shields was the top finisher for St. James with a 15th place finish and a time of 9:45.2. Seth Hughes was a few spots behind in 22nd with a time of 10:11.9. Caleb Adams finished in 33rd with a time of 10:30.9. Quinn Shultz took 41st for St. James in 10:43.3. Adrian Chirico finished in 57th with a time of 11:04.6, Jacob Wilson placed 72nd with a time of 11:30.3, while Austin Breeding and Hunter Bullock finished back to back in 87th and 88th with times of 11:49.8 and 11:51.
Their next meet will be at Cuba on Tuesday, Oct. 2.
