The Rolla cross country team hosted their annual Rolla Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 25. The Lady Bulldogs had the top three finishers in the girls varsity race, while the boys had a third place finish of their own on the day.

The Lady Bulldogs dominated the varsity race, claiming the three top spots. Junior Emma Puetz cruised to a first place finish with a time of 19:51.39. Olivia Holmes was right behind her with a time of 20:47.86, while Aiden Scheffel rounded out the top three with a time of 21:15.08. Mercedez Carpenter was the next finisher for Rolla, finishing 15th with a time of 24:11.8. Mary Romine crossed the finish line in 18th with a time of 24:44.8, while Kate Campbell took 20th with a time of 26:25.99 . Mallory Moats was Rolla's final finisher in 25th with a time of 28:54.02. The Lady Bulldogs took first place as a team with a team score of 32. Waynesville finished second with 37 team points. 

The JV also ran a 5K and Rolla was led by a fifth place finish by Faith Aguilarleon with a time of 27.32.14. Jesse Coverdell took eighth with a time of 27:59.77. Isabella Alejandro and Emma Starnes finished back to back in 10th and 11th with times of 29:00.27 and 29:05.02. Jaden Bryce rounded out the Rolla JV with a 14th place finish and a time of 32.55.36. The Lady Bulldog JV finished in second as a team with 32 points. 

The Rolla boys were led by Noah Crutcher, who took home a third place finish for the Bulldogs with a time of 17:36.55. Alex Frisbee fought through an apparent injury to finish 11th with a time of 19:11.89. Wyatt Owens finished in 17th for Rolla with a time of 19:34.89, while Orion Parker was a few places behind in 19th with a time of 19:39.61. Wyatt Thurston finished rounded out Rolla's top five with a 27th place finish with a time of 20:30.33. Johnathan Carlson and Daniel Read finished back to back in 30th and 31st with times of 21:27.52 and 22:32.55. The Bulldogs finished in fourth place as a team with 77 team points. Waynesville won the meet as a team with 35 team points. 

The Bulldog JV also had some strong finishes in the 5K race. Justin McEnaney led the charge with a second place finish for Rolla in 20:35.83. Tristan Lietz took 11th for the Bulldogs with a time of 22:08.49, while Colton Holmes was two spots behind in 13th with a time of 22:17.61. Johnny Swizdor finished in 16th with a time of 22:32.74. Kendall Smith finished in 28th with a time of 24:03.05, Kaleb Chiles finished 33rd with a time of 24:47.67, John Lashley in 39th with a time of 25:41.83, Wesley Sutton took 44th with a time of 29:24.99 and John Brammer took 46th with a time of 32:59.02. The Rolla JV also finished in fourth with a team score of 65. 

Rolla also had some standout finishes in the middle school race. Izzy Frost won the girls 2,400m run with a time of 9:52.92, while Bridget Ragan was a few spots behind in the boys race with a fourth place finish and a time of 10:36.11. The boys also had two top 10 finishes with Trent Mackay and Wesley Wilson finishing back to back in ninth and 10th with times of 10:01.64 and 10:12.61. The boys finished in third place as a team, while the girls finished in fourth. 

Next up for Rolla is the Camdenton Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 29, before the Ozark Conference Meet the following Saturday.
