The Rolla Athletic Booster Club hosted their annual Golf Tournament to raise funds for the upcoming school year on Monday, July 16. The final numbers have been tallied and the booster club had another extremely successful tournament.
The booster club raised $10,500, which will be used to support Rolla's athletic programs in the upcoming school year. The tournament has grown since last year, bringing the total number of four player teams up to 28 as they sought to raise money to help out the Bulldogs.
The tournament was broken up into several flights and the teams played in a scramble format. In the A flight, the top team shot a 55 and consisted of Chris and Sue Killian, Kate Jones and Kim Hilker. One stroke behind them was the team of Kevin Barr, Jeremy Light, Kevin Veik and Dan Collier. In third place with a 58 was the team of Pete Morse, John Kiebba, John Jordan and Jared Jordan. Flight B was led by a trio of teams shooting a 63. Those teams included the MacCash family, which included Randy, Hillary, Logan and Thomas, a team led by Patrick McKnight and Mike Fischer, as well as the team of Mitch Esquibel, Jim Jones, Kent Dinsdale and Shawn Bancroft. Flight C was led by the Nixon family in a tie with the team of Luke Floyd, Don Morris, Tucker Morris and Fletcher Morris. Both shot a 67.
The tournament also had two closest to the pin challenges on the third and 11th holes, as well as a putting contest. The closest to the pin had two winners on each hole. On the third, Sandy Kerr won for the women and Mike Ransom led the way for the male competitors. The 11th hole winners were Kim Hilker and Dan Collier. Dan Dunstedder was the winner of the putting contest.
RABC President Doug James had this to say about the tournament's success.
"It was a great turn out and we appreciate the community and coaches support for the biggest fund raiser of the year," said James.
