St. James track star Grant Conway took his talents to the national stage last week to compete in the Great Southwest Track and Field Classic on Friday and Saturday, June 1-2.

Conway was part of the Missouri shuttle hurdle relay team take took home first place, while also earning great finishes in both the 110m and 300m hurdles.

Conway ran the 4x110 shuttle hurdle relay with fellow Missourians Jekeel Suber, Isaiah Martin and Cortney Watkins Jr., winning the event with a time of 57.41. The team from Missouri beat out Texas, who finished with a time of 58.38. 

The St. James hurdler then finished seventh in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.5. His shuttle teammate Suber won the event with the staggering time of 13.91. Watkins also finished in fifth in the race. Conway then took 11th in the 300m hurdles with a time of 38.56. Thomas Burns from Florida won the race with a time of 35.47.
