The St. James golf team hosted St. Clair for a Four Rivers matchup on Wednesday, April 18. The Tigers were able to pull out a 203-219 win to earn a conference point thanks to some great finishes from their female golfers.

Hannah Shasserre shined on Wednesday, fighting through the windy weather to have the top finish on the day. She shot a 47, which included a par on the par-five fourth hole. Payton Engelbrecht was a couple strokes behind with a 49. Her round was highlighted by a par on the par-three third hole, as well as a par on the par-four seventh hole.

The boys weren't slacking on Wednesday either. Isaac Helterbrand shot a 52, while Garrick Lonning shot a 55. Max Nappier rounded out the varsity lineup with a 64.

St. Clair's top finishes were rounds of 50 and 51, which helped St. James cruise to a 203-219 victory over their conference foe.

"The team knew we needed a win to give us a chance going into the conference tournament to be one of the top teams. We talked about staying focused for this match and they went out and performed," said head coach Kevin Conway. "Hannah had her best score of the year and it came at a good time! Hopefully this will give us some momentum going into conference and then Districts!"

Next up for St. James is the Four Rivers Conference tournament on Monday, April 23 at St. Clair.
