The St. James golf team traveled up to Jefferson City to take part in the Helias Invitational on Monday, April 16. The Tigers took 16th place as a team in the event.
St. James' top finisher on the day was Payton Engelbrecht. She shot a +29 101 to tie for 52nd in the 92 player field. Garrick Lonning came in 67th for the Tigers with a +35 107. Isaac Helterbrand finished in 70th by shooting a +38 110 and Hannah Shasserre was two strokes behind with a 112 to finish in a tie for 71st. Max Nappier rounded things out with an 81st place finish by shooting a +44 116.
Those scores combined for a team score of 430, which put St. James in 16th. Rock Bridge won the event with a team score of 304, which was +16. They had the top two finishes on the day and four of the top five.
The Tigers will next host St. Clair for a Four Rivers Conference match on Wednesday.
