The St. James golf team traveled to St. Clair for a tri with the host and Sullivan on Tuesday, April 10. The Tigers earned a conference point from Sullivan, who was forced to forfeit due to having an incomplete team. The match with St. Clair didn't have a conference point on the line, but came down to the wire with St. James falling two strokes short against their Four Rivers Conference foe.

Payton Engelbrecht led the way for St. James with a 47 on the day, shooting 10-over-par. Her day was highlighted by a pair of pars, which came on the fifth and ninth holes, both of which are par fives. Garrick Lonning and Isaac Helterbrand both shot 51s on the day to tie for second on the team. Lonning had the best hole on the day for St. James when he birdied the par-four fourth hole. He also parred the ninth. Helterbrand also had a par on the day with a five on the fifth hole. Hannah Shasserre shot a 57 for St. James, while Max Nappier rounded things out with a 66.

The Tigers' scores combined for a team score of 206, which put them just two strokes behind the 204 that St. Clair shot. Sullivan had just two golfers, but one of them was the medalist. Bennett Tiefenbrunn shot a two-over-par 39 to have the low score amongst the three schools.

St. James' busy week continued with the STJ Tiger Classic on Wednesday. The round was not completed by press time. Their next competition will be the Sullivan Tournament on Friday, April 13.
