The Rolla girls soccer team (5-4, 3-0 OC) traveled to Hillcrest for an Ozark Conference matchup on Tuesday, April 10. The Lady Bulldogs advanced to 3-0 in the OC with a 3-0 victory.
Rolla got on the board right away when Elsa Wise scored with a corner kick on the second minute. The scoring was silent for a while after that and Rolla went into the half with a 1-0 lead. The Lady Bulldogs were able to break through again in the 70th minute when Wise again scored on a corner kick. Ariana Stanislawski followed that up a minute later with an unassisted goal to cap off a 3-0 win.
Kelly Cates recorded her fifth shutout of the season in the win.
The Lady Bulldog JV also pitched a shutout, winning 7-0. Paige Taylor, Faith Aguilarleon and Jesse Coverdell each scored twice, while Camryn Falkenhain added one of her own. Kate Brand recorded the shutout for the JV.
“We played well, just couldn’t get any separation from them at all. We are trying to do the right things in the attacking third of the field we just seem to have a hard time when we get the ball into the box," said head coach Mike Howard. "Hopefully we can continue to improve in that area as the season goes on."
Rolla followed that game with a matchup against Union on Wednesday, but results weren't available at press time. The Lady Bulldogs will keep their busy week going with a trip to Pacific on Friday, April 13.
