The Rolla girls soccer team (3-3, 2-0 OC) traveled to Parkview for an Ozark Conference matchup on Monday, April 2. The Lady Bulldogs fought through the rain to pull out a 1-0 victory.

The first half ended in a scoreless draw, but there was some magic around the corner for Rolla. Elsa Wise was fouled in the box with four minutes left to play, which set up Ryleigh Grommet for a hero moment. Grommet was able to knock in the penalty kick for her fourth goal of the season and send the Lady Bulldogs home with a 1-0 win.

Rolla dominated the game with 14 shots to only one from Parkview. The Lady Bulldogs also had eight corner kicks, while Parkview had none. Kelly Cates recorded her third straight shutout in goal.

The Lady Bulldog JV also pulled out a 2-0 shutout win to improve to 1-1 on the season. Faith Aguilarlean and Camryn Falkenhain each scored, while Kate Brand got the shutout in goal.

"It is nice to get the first two conference wins of the season," said head coach Mike Howard. "Defensively we played well again as a group but we are still looking for that player or two that are ready to step up and start finishing some of the chances we are creating. Our schedule doesn’t get any easier so we need to continue to improve each and every day.”

Their schedule continues with a game on their home turf when they host Helias on Wednesday, April 4.
