The 2018 spring baseball season kicked off on Friday night. All three games were four innings long and was a mixture of varsity and junior varsity players. The Waynesville Tigers hosted the Camdenton Lakers and Dixon Bulldogs.
Camdenton vs Waynesville
The Lakers and the Tigers began the night with a great matchup. The Lakers came out early and took a 3-1 lead after the second inning. The Tigers were able to gain another run but fell 3-2 in the first game.
Camdenton vs Dixon
The Lakers and the Bulldogs were up in the next game. Dixon took and early 3-1 lead after the first inning. The Camdenton bats heated up in the final inning and and they were able to score three runs and win the game 4-3. Camdenton went home with two close wins.
Dixon vs Waynesville
The final game of the night was a matchup for Pulaski County. The Bulldogs and the Tigers had a close game. Waynesville struck early and had a 4-0 lead after the second inning. The Bulldogs were able to hold them off the final periods but were unable score. The Waynesville Tigers won the game 4-0.
All three teams will begin their regular season next week. The Dixon Bulldogs will begin their season at home against the Belle Tigers on the 26th. The Waynesville Tigers will begin their season against the Willard Tigers on the 16th.
