The Rolla soccer team (10-3-1, 6-0 OC) have had a long stretch of road games dating back to Wednesday, April 12 and capped of that series of games with their fourth straight win when they played Lebanon on Tuesday, April 25. The 3-0 victory gave head coach Mike Howard his 800th career win. He is just the seventh Missouri high school coach to win 800 games.
Tuesday night's game was all Rolla and they leaned heavily on their seniors. Addy Brow and Morgan Gabriele did the goal scoring for the Lady Bulldogs, with Brow scoring twice. Olivia Gonzales, Kate Mallory and Michelle Kean. Kate was the only non-senior to directly contribute to the scoring effort.
Kelly Cates was able to record her eighth shutout in her first season at Rolla's starting keeper in the win.
“It’s nice to finish that stretch of road games with only one loss," said coach Howard. "Another road conference win which is always good and nice to see another shutout for our team. I still think we can do a better job of putting teams away when we are given the opportunity. All in all, we keep improving and that’s all you can ask for.”
The JV also earned a 3-0 win and are now 7-1-1. Elsa Wise scored twice and Lauren Ulrich scored once. Kate Brand recorded the shutout.
The varsity win brought coach Howard's career record to 800-331-69.
Rolla will remain in the Ozark Conference but return home when they host Joplin on Thursday, April 27.
