A St. Robert woman was struck by a vehicle and killed on Interstate 44 in Pulaski County Tuesday afternoon.
Denise D. Purdue, 51, died at the scene, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The patrol states that Purdue entered the highway and was struck by a westbound 2014 Jeep Cherokee driven by Theodore G. Janes, 32, of Imperial near the 162-mile-marker near St. Robert.
The crash occurred around 4:55 p.m. Sept. 1. Purdue was pronounced dead by Pulaski County Coroner Mikel Hartness. Her next of kin has been notified.
The Jeep sustained extensive damage.
The highway patrol was assisted by the Pulaski County Ambulance District, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department and St. Robert Police Department.
This is the first traffic fatality reported in September in the patrol’s Troop I area, which includes Pulaski and five other south central Missouri counties. This is the patrol’s 19th traffic fatality in 2015.
