The pedestrian who was killed after crossing Interstate 44 Sunday night in Franklin County was struck by a driver from Rolla.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol states that Adam R. Whisenhunt, 37, of Sullivan, walked across the westbound lanes of the interstate around 9:53 p.m. into the path of a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport driven by Carlos M. Alfonso-Rivera, 23, Rolla.
Whisenhunt was taken by an ambulance to Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan and was pronounced dead at 10:27 p.m. by a doctor.
Alfonso-Rivera, who was wearing a seat belt, was not hurt. The vehicle sustained extensive damage.
The crash occurred at the 224.6-mile marker.
As of Tuesday afternoon, no charges had been filed against the driver.
