This year marked the 24th year for the holiday Fill-a-Ford campaign that benefits area food pantries, soup kitchens and other organizations.
As in years past, the dealership's giving program met its goal of 60 truck beds full of non-perishable food items and hygiene items for those in need.
According to Luc Burns, of Sakaleris Ford Lincoln, which sponsors the drive, the program assists around to 30 agencies from Phelps, Dent, Maries and Crawford counties.
Burns, who has been coordinating this event for a number of years now, said, "Each agency received two truckloads of goods. We estimate that there are about  $700 worth of items on each truck."
That equates to more than $40,000 in food and other essential items donated by the dealership this year.
Burns said that when the Fill-a Ford program first began, one or two trucks were filled for one or two local food pantries.
"Now we are at 30," he noted.
He added that the dealership is grateful to those individuals and businesses that made this year's event such a success.
