Lady Bulldogs too much for St. James, 25-9 25-13.

The student body was in a festive mood on Tuesday night, and the Rolla High School volleyball team gave them a lot to celebrate.

The Lady Bulldogs moved to 2-0 on the young season by sweeping past Phelps County rival St. James 25-9, 25-13 Tuesday at the RHS gym.

Junior Aarika Froehlich had a huge match with nine kills, two blocks, two service aces and a dig while junior Kelsi James had 12 set assists, three kills, two service aces and two digs and junior Jessi Kaczmarek had four digs and two service aces.

“We served very tough and pretty much dominated the match,” said RHS head coach Julie Carver. “Our schedule gets real tough real fast and we are really going to have to continue to get better.

“I was real proud of the way the kids came out and played from the first serve and kept their focus. We had a great crowd for our home opener and really appreciate the fans and all of their support.”

Rolla also won the junior varsity match.

The Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to host Ozark Conference rival Springfield Kickapoo tonight in freshman, junior varsity and varsity action, starting at 5 p.m. at the RHS gym.
