The Missouri S&T Athletic Booster Club will hold a trivia night and silent auction Saturday, May 4, at the Rolla Lions Club Den. Doors ope at 6:30 p.m. with silent auction bidding. Trivia will start at 7 p.m. The cost is $100 per table of eight people or $12.50 per person. Attendees should bring their own snacks. There will be a cash bar. The Doolittle Lions Club Spring Fling Craft Show will be held Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Doolittle Community Center.

The South Central Missouri Chapter of the Federation of the Blind will meet May 4 in the activity room at Presbyterian Manor at 1 p.m. The meeting usually lasts about an hour. Parking is available next to the garden entrance. We invite you to this support group for vision-disabled people to share coping ideas and your stories. St. James PTO is hosting a Spring Craft Bazaar. This year is the largest ever with 50 booths! It is Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. This is held in conjuction with the St. James Sip N Savor. The location is the old gym at John F. Hodge High school. Browse indoor and outdoor booths.

The Piece and Plenty Quilt Guild is sponsoring a workshop Saturday, May 4, "Fowl Play: Birds with No Egrets," led by Laura Wasilowski. The workshop will be held at 9 a.m. at First Baptist Church. The art quilt piece will be created with fused fabrics and hand embroidery. The cost for the class is $25 for members and $35 for non-members. The cost includes all patterns, pre-fused hand-dyed fabrics and threads. If you would like to take the class, contact Janet Rankin at to sign up and get a list of supplies needed.

The Rolla Parks and Recreation Youth Fishing Fair has been postponed until June 2 because of inclement weather. The free event will take place from 1-3 p.m. at Ber Juan Lake. For more information, contact Kristy Rich at 573-341-2386.

The Farmers' Market at the St. James Tourist Center is now open. Hours are Fridays and Saturdays, 8 a.m.- 2 p.m., Sunday 1-4 p.m. Tuesday 4-8 p.m.­

The Houston House in Newburg will be hosting a Buffet Breakfast the first Saturday of each month. The cost will be $6 per person for all you can eat. breakfast starts at 7 a.m.

The Harpers will be performing at Broadway Baptist Church, Hwy 68, St. James at 6 p.m.. The bluegrass and gospel music performance will be held in the outside pavilion weather permitting so please dress accordingly. If weather doesn’t permit, the performance will be held inside.

The University and Community Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra at Missouri University of Science and Technology will perform a concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall. Tickets are $5 for the general public and free for youth age 18 and younger and S&T students with a valid student I.D. They can be purchased at the door the afternoon of the performance.
