Interstate 44 from Springfield to St. Louis is becoming “Missouri’s Applied Engineering and Materials Corridor."
Innovation Park at Missouri S&T hopes to utilize that and the cluster of businesses and institutions associated with science and technology.
With 18,000 square feat of leasable “class A” office space, the Innovation Park offers offices from 150 square feet to 6,000 square feet.
The university hopes to have all that space leased by the end of fiscal year 2011.
The university is seeking Silver LEED Certification from the Leadership in Engineering and Environmental Design organization, and documentation for that certification has already been submitted.
The next building would be an incubator. Under consideration is a building with 35,000 square feet. Potential clients include start-up companies owned by university faculty.
These are one or two-person companies that have a potential for growth.
