Thirteen People Indicted on Federal Charges Involving Lincoln County Methampetamine Conspiracy

Thirteen people, most of them from Lincoln County have been indicted on federal methamphetamine conspiracy charges, United States Attorney Richard G. Callahan and Lincoln County Sheriff Michael Krigbaum announced today.

The following people were indicted by a federal grand jury January 7, 2010, on multiple charges including, conspiracy to possess pseudoephedrine knowing that it would be used to manufacture methamphetamine; manufacturing methamphetamine on premises where a child under 18 was present or resided; maintaining drug-involved premises; and possession of pseudoephedrine knowing that it would be used to manufacture methamphetamine. The indictment was suppressed until the arrests of the defendants.

James L. Wotring, 42, Silex, MO;
Donald J. Crowell, 43, Troy, MO;
Cecil Harris, 51, Troy, MO;
Roy W. Farmer, Troy, 25, MO;
Crystal D. Farmer, 25, Troy, MO;
Dario F. Busch, 35, Iowa City, IA;
Gary R. Williams, 28, Collinsville, IL;
Kara E. Harvey, 24, Columbia, MO;
Brenda Lee Roberts, 45, St. Louis, MO;
Shanon A. Allen, 29, Moscow Mills, MO;
Dennis Palmer, 35, Troy, MO;
Melissa Whaley, 31, Warrenton, MO; and
Michael Nicholson, 38, Troy, MO.

If convicted, each count of the indictment carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000.

Callahan commended the work on the case by the Lincoln County Narcotics Enforcement Team.

The charges set forth in an indictment are merely accusations, and each defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
