Man Sentenced On Federal Firearms Charges

Robert A. Ayala was sentenced to 46 months in prison on charges of illegal possession of a firearm, United States Attorney Richard G. Callahan announced today.

Ayala, 49, Cuba, MO, pleaded guilty last October to one felony count of possession of a defaced firearm, and appeared today for sentencing before United States District Judge Donald J. Stohr.

Callahan commended the work on the case by the Crawford County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, the Cuba Police Department, South Central Missouri Drug Task Force, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; and Assistant United States Attorney Michael Bert, who handled the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
